The ski area in Gausta

Gausta

Ski info

With large children's areas, slopes for all levels, off-piste and ski touring on Gaustatoppen, Norway's most famous mountain, Gausta is the ski resort for everyone. Also for the little ones - with free lift tickets and ski rental for all children under 8 years of age.

Something for everyone

The Gausta Ski Center offers 35 km of slopes, several children's areas and snow parks with jumps and rails for twin tip and snowboarders. There are challenges for all skill levels, evening skiing and many good places to stop for refreshments. Barbecue areas, a heat hut, restaurants, freshly baked pizzas and a snow groomer converted into a food truck.

Ski school for all ages

In Gausta you will find a ski school with trained ski instructors and groups of different ages. Nothing is more fun than witnessing children's pride and confidence as they manage to both ski downhill and ride the lift themselves. Adults are also welcome. Why not take the opportunity to hone your technique with an experienced teacher?

Take the train to the mountain top

The iconic mountain Gaustatoppen is 1,883 meters high. Here you can enjoy Norway's best-selling waffle and a view over a sixth of the country. All the way up is the Gaustabanen, a subway, and on the way down you'll find both family-friendly off-piste and steep chutes that experienced skiers can navigate with a guide. But even without skis, it will be an unforgettable adventure!

Snow-safe ski area

Due to its high altitude, the first winter snow in Norway often falls in Gausta and stays there until May. Gausta also invested heavily in a new snow-making system in 2019 - ideal conditions for piste construction for a long, wonderful ski season!

Cross-country skiing with a view

Gausta delivers top-class cross-country skiing. The beginner trails are perfect for novice runners, while the more experienced can develop their skills and enjoy the panoramic views of the high mountain trails. When night falls, a three-kilometre-long floodlit trail awaits, which stays open for a long time every evening. And every morning you can track the trail machines via GPS and be the first on the newly groomed trails.
