Spend your vacation in the orchard of Norway. The slopes on the fjord are perfect for cultivation. They stand in stark contrast to the blue waters of the fjord, the bubbling Norwegian waterfalls and the barren glaciers. On a summer holiday at the Hardangerfjord, Norway's contrasts come together in one holiday.

Things to do

The Queen of the Fjords combines city and nature

The Hardangerfjord cuts majestically through the massive rocky landscape. On one side of the fjord is Bergen. The largest reindeer population in Northern Europe lives on the other side on the extensive Hardangervidda. It's not hard to understand why Hardangerfjord is called the “Queen of the Fjords”.

Cruise on the Hardangerfjord

On a holiday at the Hardangerfjord you get very close to the contrasting nature. Go on a fjord cruise and leave the controls to the captain. The excursion boat glides slowly through the spectacular landscape while Norwegian nature stimulates all the senses. On the way, the ship docks in small, idyllic villages where red wooden houses break up the green-blue landscape.

Summer skiing on the glacier

At 212 square kilometers, the Folgefonn Glacier is Norway's third largest glacier. Just 2.5 kilometers from Bergen, the Folgefonn summer ski center offers an entertaining and varied experience in the summer heat. Strap your skis or snowboard under your feet and enjoy a refreshing ski ride under the sun's rays.

The Fløibanen in Bergen

The Fløibanen in Bergen leads up to Fløyen, Bergen's local mountain, with breathtaking panoramic views of the city, the mountains and the fjord. Enjoy the view and take a seat on Fløyen's wide staircase, from where the whole of Bergen spreads out beneath your feet. Bergen is the capital of Fjord Norway and the city is full of life and experiences. From colorful harbor side warehouses to tempting offerings at the fish market. It is no coincidence that Bergen is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
