The ski area in Hemsedal

Hemsedal

Ski info

Hemsedal is the largest ski resort in southern Norway. As one of the oldest and most renowned ski areas in the country, Hemsedal offers a wide range of extremely attractive downhill slopes and great leisure activities as well as a modern and comfortable infrastructure.

Hemsedal Ski Center

The Hemsedal ski area is between 620 and 1,450 meters above sea level and offers a variety of good slopes - known for being wide and well-groomed. There are up to 53 hills spread over the three peaks of Roni, Tinden and Totten, all over 1,000 meters high. There are runs of all difficulty levels and lengths, and if you love the long – and not so difficult – variant, you have the option of a nice 6 km tour. If you like black runs and big challenges, there are plenty of those in Hemsedal too. In fact, red and black slopes predominate. Once in the valley, you don't have to wait long to get back up the mountain. Hemsedal Ski Center has 21 lifts, including express chairlifts. Hemsedal Ski Center also offers snow guarantee. So there are absolutely optimal possibilities in every respect to enjoy the area to the fullest.

Offpiste

If you like it off-piste, you will find really good opportunities for freerunning on completely untouched mountain slopes or in the forest. Hemsedal is known among connoisseurs for its particularly good off-piste opportunities. There is dense forest, steep slopes and extreme gorges - definitely not something for everyone! But of course there is also something in the less difficult category - and all very close to the slopes.

Cross-country skiing

In Hemsedal you will find 140 km of groomed cross-country trails in both the valley and forest areas and 110 km of marked – and somewhat more challenging – trails in the high mountains. And these are wonderful tours! On your way through the beautiful, snow-covered landscape, there is also the opportunity to get something to eat. And if you feel like it, you can try a survival trip - with overnight stays in snow caves!

Snowboard

Hemsedal Ski Center has one of Norway's most popular snowboard parks. Here you will find 2 quarterpipes, 2 halfpipes, 1 funbox, 1 big jump and various jumps and rails - enough to keep all snowboarders and freestylers busy throughout their ski holiday in Hemsedal.

Snowparks and Skicrossarena

Snow parks also characterize Hemsedal Ski Center. Here you will find a fun slope with bumps, jumps and velodrome turns that offer fun for all ages and levels. Here you will also find the Red and Blue snow parks with jumps, rails and boxes. There is also a ski cross arena with parallel slalom, speed test, ice rink and large airbag for safe training of jumps and tricks. A ski holiday in Hemsedal offers a bit of everything - and more!

Skiing from dawn till dusk

If you haven't tried it yet, treat yourself to some off-peak skiing on your Hemsedal ski holiday. From February to April you can ski between 8:00 a.m and 9:00 a.m and you have to try it! It might not sound like anything special, but it's really great to be whizzing down freshly groomed slopes before everyone else shows up. You can also ski on illuminated slopes from Tuesday to Friday between 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. – here too with the very special atmosphere of fewer people on the slopes in a completely different light.
